Heather was a kind, caring, and compassionate soul. Innocent to the core with a deep love for her family and friends. She was also spontaneous and loved to have fun. She loved to travel. She loved to dance. She loved to fish. But above all else she was a homemaker. She and Roy literally built a wonderful home together. 

In November 2022 her world was shattered by her cancer diagnosis. This diagnosis came as a real shock. And after battling it for 16 long months cancer finally stole her life. And in turn It stole the things she still had to do. It stole her retirement. It stole the moments she wanted to see. And it stole the places she wanted to visit.

But through this battle she kept going. One step at a time. One treatment cycle at a time. She showed remarkable resilience and strength. And we are all so proud of how she kept on going. 

Through this time of darkness there were small shimmers of light too. Katharine House Hospice helped to provide one of these shimmers of light. They were a sanctuary for Heather when she so desperately needed it. The staff are remarkable and as a family we cannot thank them enough.
